Fitness Class Update

So, we re-tested yesterday and it’s official: Not only did I not lose any inches around my waist or hips, I managed to gain three pounds. This bumped me from a weight I was unhappy but somewhat comfortable with to a weight that is just over half of a REALLY REALLY BIG NUMBER of which I am very scared.

BEFORE YOU SAY ANYTHING, I know. I know it’s “not about the number,” I know it’s “how you feel” or “how your clothes fit” that matters. BUT. Since I did not lose any inches anywhere AND I gained weight, my clothes do not fit any differently. I do not feel different.

For once, I would like my efforts to pay off. JUST ONCE. It would prove to me that at least it’s possible, that I am capable of seeing change in myself and that working toward a goal is not a huge waste of my time. I do not yet know this. Once I fully decide to hit the gym, healthy snacks like those protein bars must be incorporated.

I have been trying to think of what I would like to do when this class is over next week, and I’m having a hard time coming up with something that still seems fun but isn’t wildly expensive or difficult to maintain. But, I’m looking into something like weight loss in Dallas, TX or other weight loss procedures like Semaglutide weight loss in Commack, NY. Since we lost the option of a free bus pass at work, I’m now hesitant to pick something that will require me to use the bus to get to, like any classes on the East side or where my current class meets.

We live close to a couple gyms, but I don’t know the first thing about gym memberships and I don’t want to get ripped off. I doubt Daniel would get a membership with me, but the girls at work all go to the same gym so I guess I could start there, but I don’t want to take the same classes as them because they are waaaay more fit than I am. It would just be embarrassing.

I did manage to purchase a Wii Fit, so I have been using that every day this week (well, except for Friday) and I have found that I have fantastic balance. The games are all pretty fun (with the exception of the tightrope walk – how the heck do you get it to recognize you are taking steps? Argh!) and so far my favorite activity is the Hula Hooping. Wii Fit shames you into working out every day so I’m thinking I can at least do something to keep myself in shape while I figure out what I want to do next.

Muscle weighs more than fat. You probably toned somethings here-and-there but nothing substantial. Classes like that, unless done continually for recreation (sucha s soccer every week for year and years, ballet, or something else), don’t usually produce results. At least, not for me.

I know how you feel about wishing the effort paid off for once. It sucks because we don’t see immediate results thus we never know if we’re doing the right thing.

I also know how you feel about gaining more weight. I lost 15lbs in 2006, and then once I moved I was back to my original overweightness. I spent my spring semester working out and nothing happened.

I wish you luck with the Wii-Fit. I’m trying the Flat Belly Diet right now and if that doesn’t work then Weight Watchers will be next.

The way I did it was to kind of march up and down on the spot and then your little character gradually starts to move forward :>

LOL, Wii Fit definitely shames you. XD “Oh, did you not feel like working out yesterday, Melly?” it asks me all innocent-like. WELL MR WII FIT!!!! Um…er…YO’ MAMA. X__X But gotta love hula hooping, that’s my fave too! :D

I know you read my entry about Weight Watchers, but I still totally recommend it! I haven’t weighed myself since my last meeting (the 1.4lb loss) and Chaz tells me he thinks I’ve lost more. I may have!

I haven’t exercised much, LOL, but I just got this really fun workout video from my last meeting (you can buy all kinds of stuff there) and I tried the cardio part today and it was FUN! That’s weird for me to say because I never really find that stuff fun. XD It was a 20min workout and it actually felt like 10min or less! Was very cool. :D

You can still eat whatever you want on WW, as long as it all adds up to your daily points (and your weekly points allowance if you dip into it). I just like how I’m learning about portions and getting lots of great tips on eating better, cooking, etc! I have a couple more meals I’ve created that I need to post up on mah site that are low point values but still filling and DELISH! :D

Like you said on mah blog…you, me and Cristina are ON A MISSION!!! We’ll so do it too!!! :D Whatever you end up doing, I’ll be there to totally support you. :D

I SO hear you on the frustration babe, and I just want to say I am here, if you ever want to go for a girl’s only hike, or a walk about the neighborhood, or anything.
