It’s V-Day, Yo!
nothing
Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! Hopefully it’s a happy day for you, or at least a not-depressing day. My day has been mostly filled with homework, but that’s okay, because Daniel got me a gift certificate for a 90 minute massage. :cheer: I’ve never had a real massage before so I’ve no idea what to expect, but I am pretty excited. I’m going to call probably tomorrow to set up an appointment. Whee! If anybody has any advice on professional massage ettiquite, please feel free to dispense it now.
What did I get him? A totally fun Jones Soda Valentine’s Day gift box thing. It had two sodas, a lip gloss (that was sort of for me, I admit it), two coupons for free MyJones bottles (the ones where you can get your own picture on the bottle), and some funny love coupons, like “One hour of spooning” and “One gazing into your eyes for five minutes session” and things like that. I am apparently not as romantic as he is.
Spring break plans are coming along nicely; we decided to make a short detour through Pullman, WA/Moscow, ID to visit some friends on the way to Sandpoint. Paul and I both have friends that go to Washington State University (thanks, Jana!) in Pullman, so this was a perfect opportunity to go see them. I’m excited.
Not much else to report; last night was a frenzy of Guitar Hero again, with Daniel and Josh and Paul. Daniel and Paul are getting pretty good. Josh is already good, since it’s his game.

Valentine’s Day, HA! Both André and I forgot about that…but i guess that’s expected when you’re not used to ever doing anything on that day anyway. We went to the grocery store to pick up some spice he needed for dinner and neither of us could figure out why the cashier was handing us roses after we checked out His flatmate then had to point out the significance to us while we were all eating dinner. It was one of those moments when you just have to hit yourself in the forehead and say “D’oh”!
So I guess for V-Day I got drunk, which left me with a not-so-nice hangover today
I miss Jone’s Soda. I’ve not had that stuff since Freshman year in college. After that, the Communist food service decided to never sell it again.
As far as the massage goes, I suggest not getting a deep tissue massage at first. They can be nice, but they hurt most of the time and leave you very sore.
Other than that the massage people are very nice. They tell you to take off as much as you feel comfortable, so normally I will take off from the waist up. Normally your face is down the entire time and you dont really ever have eye contact with the person, which is sometimes nice. Sometimes they will try to start a conversation with you, but almost always they have a very soothing voice.
I miss massages. I used to get them all the time when I was around 14 because I worked at a gym and got a good discount.
I hope you enjoy yourself
Just FYI, the university in Pullman is Washington State University – Eastern Washington University is in Cheney, WA – about 2 hours away! :-)
