WordPress installed!
Oh, this is so supercool. I successfully installed WordPress after miserably failing at installing Movable Type. I got MT 3/4 of the way through, and then it couldn’t figure out what to do about a 500 internal server error. WordPress touts a “Famous 5 minute install,” but for me it took more like 3 hours, but this is only due to the fact that Cute FTP (which I installed yesterday) assumed that the ENTIRE 30 day trial period had passed between yesterday night and this morning. So I tried re-downloading it and uninstalling and reinstalling and a bunch of things, but I ended up just downloading the evaluation version of WS_FTP, which seems to work okay. FTP isn’t hard to figure out, but the programs make things more difficult than they should be.
I also registered for my classes today and got all of the ones that I wanted at the times that I wanted them. This is very cool, because I’ll only be at school 3 days a week – Monday morning, Tuesday morning and afternoon, and Wednesday morning and afternoon. This may sound sucky, but it’s much better than Tuesday morning, Wednesday afternoon and evening, Thursday afternoon, and Friday afternoon, which is what I have right now.
