No-Cry Dropoff

Wesley didn’t cry when I dropped him off at daycare today!!!

This is only the second time in about eight months.

I’m pretty certain the only reason it happened was because he spotted a laptop in the kitchen area as I was taking off his coat. He said, “There’s a ‘pooter [computer] in the kitchen?” and I said there was, and he wandered that direction and didn’t even give me a second glance.

Wesley doesn’t really get to watch TV, but he has a few favorite YouTube videos he gets to watch sometimes. Mostly OK GO music videos, plus Psy’s Gangnam Style and then a couple of actual little-kid appropriate ones.

I kind of feel bad for his teacher, because even though he wasn’t crying, he was probably desperately asking to watch one of the above videos in a way that only Daniel or I would understand. There’s “the one wif da doggies jumpin’ over da fence” or “the car one” or “the paint one” (all OK GO videos), plus “damon style” (Gangnam Style).

I am just so happy he didn’t cry when I was leaving! It was such a refreshing way to start the day.
