I ♥ MySQL Today

:note: Type O Negative – “Pyretta Blaze”

*drum roll* I have restored my journal archives! You will notice that they now go back until March. And actually, I’ve successfully restored ALL of the archives, all the way back until about last August or so. Problem is, those ones were all restored as being password-protected, so they don’t show up in the archives. :| You can still find them using the search thingy on the side there (if you know what to search for, I suppose), but you won’t be able to read them unless you put “open” as the password.

I’ve sent an email to the lovely Jem, asking her to help me out with that problem. I’m sure there’s an easy way to make an SQL statement that just says “where post_password is open, delete the password,” I just don’t know how to do it.

Despite this, I am UNBELIEVABLY excited that I now have archives. Granted, several posts are missing (the ones that were made between the last backups and when the db’s were killed) but that’s a small price to pay for having archives back to the beginning. I’m also re-instating categories and going through the old posts to recategorize them. :whew:

None of the archives will have any comments, simply because to import the posts in the first place I had to manually go through and adjust the unique id number associated with each and every post. To get the comments back and to have them show up on the proper posts, I’d have to update a unique id number for each comment (!), and then have to correctly change the corresponding post reference number to the new id’s I just gave them today for multiple comments on each post. NO. WAY. I love my comments, but not that much.

I have ARCHIVES! :excite:
