Happy Valentine’s Day!

:note: Snooper Persson – “Lovefool (Snooper Version)”

I hope everybody’s having a good day. :happyheart: I sent out an email a bit ago to pretty much everybody I know with a Happy V-day message – if I forgot you, please don’t kill me. :dis: I had a big list of emails and it may be a simple case of overlooking yours.

Zombie Flyboy wrote :write: a poem for me! Here it is:

And this one goes out to Meggan!

Meggan, you seem really nice.
That’s why I hope you never get lice.
I like that you’re cool, with a fun sense of humor.
And that’s why I hope, you are not stricken with tumors.

But what I really wanted to say.
In the Zombie Flyboy way.
Without further damn fucking hell delay.
Was happy Valentines Day!!!!

Happy Valentines Day!

 Awwh.

In other news:

I am nerdier than 50% of all people. Are you nerdier? Click here to find out!

Somehow, I thought I would have scored higher. :dork:

My plans for today entail possibly going out to dinner, but definitely going to the “Lucid Dream Machine,” which, despite it’s name, is not some weird drug house. :woggly: It’s this late-night gaming center that’s kind of like a big rec-room. It has a billion TVs all hooked up to various gaming consoles all the way from Atari to Xbox. And Legos, lots of Legos. I love Legos. Do you see why I thought I would have scored higher on the nerd test? Though, it was mostly math-nerdy (which I am not – I hate math) not internet-nerdy (which I TOTALLY AM) so that might explain it.

My FORMER plans were going to a Morbid Angel/Soulfly concert, but the tickets ended up being disgustingly expensive, and Daniel and I would really only be going for Morbid Angel anyway so it wasn’t worth it. I don’t mind really; I’ve already seen them. What I’m really stoked about is the Me First and the Gimme Gimmes concert in March. I’m not a huge punk fan, but I really like them.

Speaking of concerts, no, I haven’t been to a Nine Inch Nails show, though I wish I had. I heard there should be a new CD out this year, so we’ll see. My wish list of concerts is as follows:
Type O Negative :ton: (again, because I am totally obsessed)
Rammstein (the last time they were in the U.S. was 2001)
Nine Inch Nails (it would be so much fun)
Marilyn Manson (just to say I’ve been to a MM concert. I like him, just… I dunno.)
Borknagar or Tristania (fat chance, but it is a wish list)
Nothingface (in the “Violence” era, not that stupid “Skeletons” crap)
Fear Factory (again, because I love them)

There’s probably more… I just can’t think of them though.

Actually, speaking of Fear Factory, there’s a sample in one of their songs (“Timelessness”) that says something akin to, “When the operation of the machine becomes so odious(?)…” (there’s more but I don’t know it) and today I learned where it comes from. I actually didn’t even realize it was a sample until today. Anyway, we were watching video clips from famous movies and such, and this guy was giving a speech to activists at Berkeley in the 60’s, and it’s from that speech! The movie was called, fittingly, “Berkeley in the 60’s” (as far as I know). But I thought it was really awesome that they took the sample from such a powerful speech.

I had a similar thing happen a few years ago after listening to Nothingface’s “Violence” CD :cd: nonstop for months, I saw Hitchcock’s “The Birds,” and one of Nothingface’s songs has a sample from that movie. I had no idea what it was from until I started recognizing movie dialogue of a movie I’d never seen before. That’s what this Fear Factory thing was like today. I recognized the guy’s voice but didn’t know why, and then he said the part that’s on the song. I always get really giddy and excited when I find out things like this. :excite:

I always forget how much I like Fear Factory. I LOVED seeing them in concert the first time; the second time wasn’t quite as good because they weren’t headlining, so they didn’t have as long of a set or the chance to play the pretty songs like “Timelessness,” but it was still fun. Their new one, “Archetype,” is a really awesome CD.
