So Much Stuff!

I’m at my grandparents’ house, on the computer because neither of them are home, despite the fact that both of their vehicles are here. :blah: So, I shall tell you what’s been going on.

I had lots of fun in Bottle Bay – we watched a movie called “Fantastic Planet.” It’s some old animated French sci-fi movie that was actually pretty interesting. The animation reminded me of the Monty Python animation. It would take too long to explain the plot, so I’ll just summarize by saying that there’s these aliens that keep humans as pets, and one human runs away to live with the wild humans. Except they’re called “Ohms” or something. Actually, if you’ve seen the movie “The Cell,” Jennifer Lopez is watching Fantastic Planet in her room at one point. The clips she’s watching involve a little boy with a collar around his neck that he’s struggling to get off. It’s strange.

Max’s girlfriend Hailey had a weird accident on Wednesday – she was supposed to play bass for this jam band of theirs, but earlier in the day she cut her elbow pretty bad. :ack: Apparently, she stood up underneath a ceramic lamp and hit it with her head (not very hard) and it shattered. She was picking up the pieces when she noticed drops of blood on the floor and then realized it was from her own elbow. They bandaged it up, but she wasn’t going to be able to play bass. The next day she went and had it looked at, and ended up getting seven stitches. Crazy. :thinking:

Max ended up getting Daniel’s brother Paul to play bass in her place, and the gig they were doing was at an open mic night downtown. They were AWESOME. And what was just as cool was that I saw SO MANY PEOPLE that I went to high school with that I haven’t seen since graduation. I used to kind of be friends with these twin brothers, Seth and Scott, and I saw them there! They grew up! It was insane, one had facial hair and was smoking and they both were a lot bigger and muscley. I was really stoked that I got to talk to them though, they’re hilarious.

I also saw this guy named Cory (who, incidentally, is now friends with Daniel’s sister Heidi) who used to want to be in a band with me when we were in 8th grade. He and I used to be really good friends, but as we grew up we just sort of parted ways. He seemed really excited to see me though, so that was fun.

Then yesterday Daniel and I were returning some stuff that my mom got me at Walmart, and on the way out I saw Basil and that Max guy in the parking lot! There were cars behind them so we really didn’t get to talk at all… maybe I’ll try to get ahold of them or something…

I FINALLY read “The Da Vinci Code” and TOTALLY LOVED IT. I cannot recommend it enough. I, uh, read it in one night. :oops: I read the first four chapters at Daniel’s house and then brought it home and read from about 1am until 6am. I could not put it down. Then yesterday I read the prequel, “Angels & Demons” which was also fantastic. You don’t have to read them in order; I didn’t and I was fine. They don’t really build on each other or reference each other much. I loved that one too though, very excited I read it.

At any rate, I’m supposed to meet up with Daniel and Heidi later today since this is his last day here. And I think my grandparents might be home, so I must go socialize.
