I’m Baaaaaack!

:note: our small but loud fan

Hello all! I have returned from my vacation and despite only posting twice? in two weeks? I really don’t have much to say about it. Nothing that would sound interesting to anybody, at least. I played with baby chickens, helped tend to a sick pig, got tons of mosquito bites in the process, and knitted a pig. I helped tile the kitchen (as mentioned earlier) and attended more baseball games than I ever could have imagined. I glazed a few plates. My fifteen-year-old brother and I watched Montel together on TV. I managed to read five of the six Harry Potter books, completely out of order (3, 6, 2, 5, 4) and am now experiencing a surge of HP fandom that I have been exercising in the form of lurking around Mugglenet, The Leaky Cauldron, and HP Lexicon.

School starts again this week and I can’t say that I’m looking forward to it. My schedule is interesting, at least: I work and then go to class one day, another day I just work, and yet another day I’ve got the remaining three classes. I’ve so far avoided the dreaded three-classes-in-one-day ordeal, but I think it’ll actually work out for me. I despise going to school five days out of the week to be there for a measly few hours – not that I relish the idea of being in class for nearly twelve hours in one day, but you know. It’ll be different, at least.

I recently bought a book about Rasputin that I’m hoping to get Daniel to read. I think he’d like it. I also found The Da Vinci Code (which, again, Daniel still has yet to read) and a book by Jennifer Weiner called “Good In Bed” that came highly recommended. I also managed to find a whole slew of double-pointed knitting needles as well as stitch holders, a stitch counter, and several crochet hooks, all for only $2. I’m currently having to guess at the sizes of the needles, but I’m excited because I’m going to try some mittens next, just as soon as I finish a pair of slippers for Daniel. :D I’m not yet in the stage where I feel that I need quality equipment for my knitting. I’m okay with thrift-store finds.

That’s all for now, I suppose – I’m currently trying to figure out how to restore my portfolio site because right before I left, I transferred the hosting to Site5 and then never actually uploaded the site there. The issue I’m having stems from the sites being hosted on a “True Multisite” plan which means I can have more than one website hosted under the same account, but have separate admin panels for them and whatnot. It’s all very lovely, except I can’t log in to FTP anything. I’m sure I’ll get it figured out soon enough, but for now it’s frustrating. :o
