When people first meet me, they inevitably describe me as quiet. Quiet and short. However, if you talk to anyone who has known me for any length of time, they’ll tell you that I just don’t shut up. Basically, I don’t like to look stupid in front of people I’ve just met, so I tend to simply listen for a while until I feel comfortable speaking up. I also don’t speak up much in class unless I’m confident that I know what I’m talking about. That said, I’m notorious for telling really long, anti-climactic stories. I can’t seem to tell a short version of anything that has happened to me.
I think I have a mild form of social anxiety – I get nervous in groups of people, especially people I don’t know very well. I hate walking by restaurants that have outside seating because there are people! OUTSIDE! Where I am WALKING! Augh. I feel like they’re all staring at me. I know this is weird.
I love to read, and have since I was very small. My favorite books in 1st grade were the Babysitter’s Club series – a series that was more or less meant for 5th graders. This lifelong obsession with reading is probably why I read so fast now, and also why I am great at spelling. I once won the bi-county spelling bee when I was in 6th grade and I used to correct my 4th grade teacher’s spelling when she wrote things on the whiteboard. In retrospect, she probably hated me for that.
I’m an atheist who likes heavy metal, black metal, industrial rock, hard rock, and some alternative stuff. If you want, you can check out a non-comprehensive list of bands I’m into. My favorite color is silver and I am bad at anything math related.
My husband’s name is Daniel and he is wonderful.
My dream occupation is getting paid to code HTML and CSS all day. Currently, I am living this dream and it is fantastic. I graduated from the Art Institute of Portland in December of 2006 with a BS in Multimedia & Web Design.
