Things Wesley has thrown up on today

  • My hand
  • His jacket
  • His button-up shirt
  • His sweater vest
  • The umbrella stroller
  • His own butt (twice)
  • A cherished quilt handmade by my now-deceased great-grandmother
  • His pajamas
  • The concrete steps outside our door
  • A bucket for playing in the sand at the beach
  • An empty animal cracker tub we designated as a barf bucket
  • The toilet
  • The kitchen floor

Apparently when Wesley contracts a cold, it heightens his gag reflex to an outrageous degree, making it so that any coughing (due to the cold) is liable to end in vom. It is a terrible habit.

Excuse me while I go take a shower.

Omggg that is like 80 things and he is such a tiny person, did his stomach empty at all?? D:

That’s the craziest thing – he had barely eaten anything all day!

He hit a lot of those items at once, too, so all told it was a bit less bad than the list makes it seem, but still. Ick.

He’s WAAAY better today, thankfully. I don’t think he’s thrown up once. (I, however, have contracted his cold and spent all day in bed eating Saltines and reading books.)

I hope that he gets to feeling better soon!

I’m confused, though. How does one even throw up on one’s butt? I always aim away from myself and valuables, if possible.

    • Meggan says:

Well, he was sitting two of the times he threw up, so he leaned to the side and hit his side hip/butt area.

Plus, he’s only three and doesn’t have a lot of vom experience, so I don’t blame him for barfing on his butt, haha!

Aweee I hope he feels better fast. But the animal cracker bucket is classic lol.

Oh gawd I am “glad” that Isabel isn’t the only one that seems to get a super-sensitive gag reflex and barfs everywhere when she’s coughing/coldy.

LOLed at the list though (only because it’s not me cleaning it up for once!)

    • Meggan says:

This doesn’t happen to anybody else’s kids I know! Count me in as “glad” it happens to Isabel too. Gross.

      • Jem says:

Well, let me reassure you, Izz is so bad that sometimes when she’s a bit phlegmy in the mornings after a good night’s sleep, she’ll wake up, cough and spew. Just random snot spew for no apparent reason.

        Weird kids.
