My Brain Is Melting

:note: Lacrimas Profundere – “My Velvet Little Darkness”

I just told Daniel he should guest post for me and he responded with, “I’m going to guest-post my way to the dishes.” Um, okay. Dishes are good. Currently they are all dirty so that’s nice of him to go do them. I think he secretly fears I’m going to rush in there and get them all done and then he will feel bad because I have so much other stuff to do and OMG WHY AM I DOING DISHES?!? He’s nice like that.

Also, we seem to have ants and I’m not sure what to do about them – I have never been faced with ants before. They are very tiny ones, not those gross huge black ones, so they don’t freak me out. They are merely very annoying and crawly everywhere. We did buy some ant traps, but I can’t say that they’ve worked very well. The ants like our dirty dishes pile, especially the dishes from when we had pancakes and syrup this weekend. Fabulous. :sneer:

I finally finished a paper at 7pm tonight that was due Monday. Yes, I am behind. I’m not usually behind; I generally turn everything in because I am guaranteed a non-zero grade if I turn stuff in, and even a 50% is better than 0%. But… something happened, I guess, and I just never did the paper. It was mostly because I didn’t understand anything I was supposed to be writing about. But it is done and has been emailed to the instructor with a huge apology. His syllabus says he doesn’t accept late work, but I think he’d rather we turned this paper in than not, so it’s worth a shot.

That’s basically all I have to say; We were supposed to go to the coast this weekend with Heidi and such, but she hasn’t called so we might not. Also, I am hungry.

  • I always put on my syllabus that I don’t accept late work, but the truth of the matter is that I only do it to scare the perpetual slackers and excuse makers who float through nearly every class. I will certainly accept late work from students who I know care about class and are making a genuine effort. So I think you’re absolutely right to finish it up and turn it in late. Instructors know which students are serious and which aren’t.

And yay for your guy doin’ the dishes!

Ant traps? Don’t think I’ve ever seen those in action before, how do they work?

We just use ant power :)

Have a good weekend at the coast x

Do you know where the ants are coming in? We put down powder (um, ant-killing power, I assume!) and that does the trick for us. :)

Christ. That’s possibly the most boring comment in the world. Excuse me while I leave now. :p

Claire: The ant traps are these little cardboard squares with a dome in the center, and the ants are supposed to crawl in and eat some poisonous food and crawl out to go off and die. So maybe traps is not the correct word. Either way, I don’t think they are working.

Vixx: I have no idea. There’s a window right in front of our sink that we keep open a lot, so maybe there? But there’s a screen over the window, so I don’t know. We were considering going and getting spray or powder or something to put down, but I don’t want to poison myself as well. :P
