Nothingface – “Make Your Own Bones”
So as it turns out, I’m a total assface and I didn’t initially realize that linking to the Gem Sweater video file itself technically falls under the definition of hotlinking. I’m really embarrassed about it. I KNOW what hotlinking is and wouldn’t EVER think about doing it normally, but for some reason since it was a video and not just a jpeg or a gif AND I was just linking to it, not trying to display it on my site, it didn’t occur to me that it was, in fact, hotlinking. All I can say is that it was a momentary lapse of judgement that I’ve fixed now. My apologies. You can still see the video by going to the page it’s displayed on. So no worries there, but I still have to deal with the fact that somebody on the Internet thinks I’m a total theiving idiot. Gah. I sent the admin guy an apology email, so I hope he doesn’t hate me. :ack:
That aside (though I’m probably still pink from embarrassment. How horrible), um, gah. OH! Oh I’ve just received an email back from him! It says:
No harm done. thanks for updating your link.
Oh thank god. Man do I feel better now. :whew:
Yes. So. My birthday is in five days! I’ll be twenty! I’m still planning on having a video game tournament party. Daniel’s cleaning/rearranging his room because we have to fit at least two or three other people in here besides us, plus Paul’s TV and GameCube. I still want a Kirby cake, but I don’t know if that’s still happening or not because I wasn’t planning on baking it. Maybe I should plan on baking it. I don’t know.
Daniel and I finally bought our train tickets to go home! It started to get to the point where we needed to buy them NOW or else we’d pay a million dollars for them. They were significantly more expensive than they were when I last looked at prices, but my student discount helped a lot. We’re having to do some creative budgeting and whatnot to get the tickets and rent and bills paid for all at once, but it’ll all work out. Eventually. :blah:
The portfolio show is tomorrow at the school, and it’s open to the public from 1-3pm so if you’re in the Portland area, I recommend checking it out. Lots of people I know are graduating and there should be some pretty awesome stuff there. I have to work afterward, but I think it’s my last day of work this term since I’m not working over break. I’ll start again when school starts. I have kind of a weird/sucky schedule for next term – I work 7:30am-12pm on Mondays, and then 8pm-11:45pm Fridays. Ah well, Mondays will be really hectic I’m sure, and then Friday will be TOTALLY DEAD and I’ll have trouble staying awake, so it kind of evens out I suppose… I’ll just have to find a way to get home that will ensure I don’t get mauled on the way. :dis:
